OOC: Seeq'ing roleplay?

Tuesday, 11-16, starting about 6 pm SLT, in Seeq Emet in the Wadi.

Make up a seeq-only name, throw it on a flip title, take off your shoes and be a Desertborn for an hour or two, socializing at the end of the day. Dinner is done, the kids sent to bed, it is time for the adults

Outside, the temperature is dropping with the setting sun, but it is warm in the seeq. Women wear summery dresses with long skirts. Men wear long or short kilts or pants, and go topless or wear openfront shirts.

Desertborn

-------------
Born to a planet with harsh extremes of temperature and an even harsher environment, the desertborn are survivors, with strong traditions and fierce loyalties.

You admire fighting skill, accurate and quick decision making, strength of mind. You have proven you deserve to live by completing live-or-die rites of passage. Every adult in the seeq has done the same. Creativity and cunning are prized by your people. Most Desertborn think the only good offworlder is a dead offworlder, if he walks on Al Raqis's ground, and refer to the offworlders as Sons of Shaitan.

You swear by The Maker, the great worm, and call on Shai D'ood to bless your travels. You love the expanses of desert and the high mountains of your world, and pity others who must live in ships or on less beautiful worlds.

Naming:
Tribe members refer to each other by their inSeeq names (soft names)...not by the names they use with strangers or non-Seeq Desert Born (hard names).

A Reverend Mother is addressed by an honorific of title, (Reverend Mother, Adinasahy, or Lady) & other members of the sisterhood are generally called Lady or Friend. Calling a member of the sisterhood by their familiar name only implies an intimate relationship by custom.

GENERAL RULES:
1. You are 100% human. You have no magical powers, are not a mutant, nor are you a halfbreed with any non-human species. You are probably not even a halfbreed with any human offworlders.
2. You may have grown up in another seeq or have spent time in the settlement or with the miners. (any exception will be brought before the council of the Naib and Reverend Mother)
3. You have blue-in-blue eyes from living in a spice saturated environment all your life.
4. No weapons other than your always-worn knife or poison ring. There are always guards on watch outside, and scanners strategically placed, which will give plenty of warning should the seeq be attacked.
